Originally made by the renowned Hertwig company, which was finally demolished in 2024, his shape was saved from disposal by the Zwergstatt Philipp Griebel. Today, Kalle is produced again with dedication and love in Thuringia. Fired at 1050 degrees and hand-painted, he combines robust quality with the finest detail work.

Made from 100% German raw materials and weatherproof (except in frost), Kalle is a versatile eye-catcher: whether as a highlight in the garden, as a charming element in the kitchen or as a stylish collector’s item.

The Zwergstatt Philipp Griebel, founded in 1874 in Gräfenroda, is the last traditional garden gnome manufacturer in the world.
